
Michael graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Journalism.
He started in broadcasting while still in college in 1983 when he did the news for KDNT Radio, a small commercial station in Denton. In 1984 he joined Dallas powerhouse KVIL AM/FM Radio, working with the legendary Ron Chapman. Rey worked as a DJ, Music director, traffic reporter and sideline reporter for Dallas Cowboys Radio in his 15 years at the station.
In 1998 Rey was named lead anchor for Texas Cable News, a statewide cable network. In 2002 Rey joined WFAA-TV in Dallas as a reporter/anchor. Rey has worked at CW-33 as a reporter/anchor since April 2006. He lives in Plano with his wife Christin and daughter Faith.
