Barry Carpenter

Barry is a weekday reporter at CW33 News at Nine.
Barry was born and raised in Northern California where he attended Chico State University. Barry began his broadcast career as a Sports anchor/reporter at KRCR-TV in Redding, California. He is a die hard Giants, Warriors and yes, 49ers fan. Don't be hatin'. Barry made the switch from Sports to News and has since anchored, reported and produced News, Weather and Sports for television stations in Albuquerque, El Paso and Tucson.
Barry came to CW33 in December of 1999. He has covered numerous high profile stories, including the Space Shuttle disaster, the devastating tornado that swept through downtown Fort Worth and Hurricane Lili, just to name a few.
Barry's News and Sports career has been highlighted by the following achievements:
- 2005 Emmy Award for Best Specialty Assignment Report.
- 2005 Emmy Award nominee for Team News Coverage.
- 1993 New Mexico Associated Press Award for Best Sports Story.
When Barry isn't working, he's usually trying to find a Giants or 49ers game on TV, (good luck there) learning to play guitar, (very painful) watching movies or simply enjoying time with his wife Debra in Lewisville.
