Dawn Tongish

Dawn Tongish is Weekend Co-Anchor with Jim Grimes, as well as a reporter during the weeknight editions of CW News at Nine.
Dawn grew up on a Kansas farm, in the tiny town of Herndon....population 200. Graduated from The University of Kansas, in the top 10% with a Broadcast Journalism Degree. She was voted Best Broadcast student Junior/Senior years. A True-blue Jayhawk Fan, "NCCA'S Big Dance in March is one of my favorite times of year. Go Hawks!" Dawn has worked in Garden City, Kansas; Lawton, Oklahoma; Peoria, Illinois and Wichita, Kansas.
Dawn has covered stories on the Oklahoma City Bombing, Presidential Elections, 9-11, Texas 7 Escape, Space Shuttle Challenger Breakup over Texas, and violent weather, including tornadoes in Fort Worth, Oklahoma and Kansas.

Dawn also received many awards before coming to Dallas, including the Sigma Delta Chi -- Mark Of Excellence Award.
Married to Eduardo, after 7 years of long-distance dating... they have 3 children. She and Eduardo are outdoor sports enthusiasts and avid hikers.
