Dave Crome

Dave is weekend sports anchor for CW 33 News at Nine.

A native of Wilmette, Illinois near Chicago, Dave graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and is happy to provide the answer to the aged old question, "What the heck is a Saluki?" It is an Egyptian hunting dog, and since Southern Illinois is known as "Little Egypt" it became the proud mascot of SIU-C.

After graduating from the Radio-TV department at SIU-C, Dave covered sports for WSIL-TV in southern Illinois, KDBC-TV in El Paso and KSHB-TV in Kansas City. Dave came to CW 33 News at Nine in 1999 and has had the privilege of covering some monumental sporting achievements in the Metroplex. The Stanley Cup championship for the Dallas Stars has been the highlight but covering Emmitt Smith becoming the NFL's all-time leading rusher, Nolan Ryan's induction into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, and Hank Blalock's game winning home run in the 2003 All-Star Game aren't too far behind.

Dave's time in DFW has been highlighted by several awards. Dave grew up in Chicago and married his high school sweetheart, Janet. They have four children, Nick, Christy, Connor and Lexie and live in the DFW suburb of Grapevine, Texas.
