
Terri Chappell

Terri Chappell, an award winning journalist, co-anchors CW33's primary 9pm newscast with Tom Crespo Monday through Friday.
As a veteran member of our news team, she helped launch CW33 News at Nine in 1998.
Prior to joining KDAF, Terri was the main anchor for K-EYE TV (CBS) in Austin, Texas where she anchored the 5, 6,and 10pm newscasts.
Terri moved to Austin in 1995 from San Francisco where she spent three years co-anchoring a nationally syndicated travel show and an internationally syndicated travel show for the Travel Channel. She also produced nationally syndicated travel and environmental reports.
During her career Terri has also worked as a news anchor/ reporter for KTXL-TV (FOX) Sacramento, CA; KGAN-TV (CBS) Cedar Rapids, IA; KCOY-TV (CBS) San Luis Obispo,CA; and KREX-TV (CBS) in her home town of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Terri's reported from Russia, Great Britain, Canada, Cuba, Costa Rica, Panama, and Mexico.
Her in-depth documentary on Russia's healthcare crisis and its thousands of abandoned children earned her a first place Texas Associated Press award in 1995.
In 1997 Terri was nominated for Austin's Broadcaster of the Year Award, and in 1998 she earned a second place Texas Associated Press award for her 5 part series on Cuba documenting the impact of the Pope's visit, the fight for religious freedoms, and the consequences of the U.S. embargo.
In 2002, Terri was honored to accept the "Mother of the Year Award" from Fort Worth's Volunteers of America.
Most recently the Associated Press awarded KDAF TV News at 9 2nd place for Best Newscast in Texas, 2004.
Recently, Terri's participated in numerous events for The New Beginning Center, The Baylor-Sammons Breast Cancer Awards Ceremony, The Leukemia-Lymphoma Society, The Epilepsy Foundation, The Texas Neurofibromatosis Foundation, The Lakewood service league and our very own CW33's Kid's Fund, a fund of the McCormick Tribune foundation.
Terri and her husband, Michael have two children MacGregor, age 3 and Beckett, just 6 months old.
She most enjoys time with her family, travel, the outdoors, reading, writing, architecture and horseback riding. She's a history buff and avid enthusiast of local historic architecture, renovating two historic homes in Dallas so far!
